IDEAL CANDIDATE:

This position is for an experienced hard working professional Line Cooks only. Entry level cooks should NOT apply. This ideal candidate is detail-oriented and must be a GREAT COOK with solid techniques and a love of cooking. This is not an administrative focused position, excellent cooking skills, in a fast-paced environment are a must. The bulk of the work will involve physical labor, standing on your feet all day, so you must be in good health and able to lift 50 lbs. Available shifts include both daytime and evening, weekday and weekend.

DUTIES – QUALIFICATIONS & EXPECTATIONS:

May include but are not limited to the following items:

  • Minimum 3 year experience in working on a prep line, catering and/or restaurant industry is (REQUIRED).
  • The Line Cook is responsible for completion of culinary tasks, food production for our restaurant and as required, prepping for multiple parties in-house if the need arises.
  • They will maintain a safe and clean working environment while assisting other cooks in their growth by offering technique and guidance.
  • Must have strong organizational and communication skills and a collaborative sense of success is a must in our kitchen.
  • Must be bilingual: English and Spanish.
  • Flexibility and Big-picture thinking are key qualities we are looking for in our Line Cooks. Having the ability to plan ahead and to adapt to circumstances as they change while maintaining a positive attitude allows our team to function day in and day out at the highest levels.
  • The Line Cook also works closely with other departments and vendors; therefore must be able to remain highly focused in a fast-paced, lively environment and must be able to problem solve, multi-task and show flexibility as a member of the Domenico Winery + Osteria team.
  • Able to follow written or verbal instructions
  • Obtain / have CA State Food Handlers certification as applicable
  • Able to do repetitive work
  • Able to prepare food according to food handlers guidelines
  • Keep a clean, stocked and tidy prep station and workspace
  • Knowledge of cooking procedures
  • Must have good organizational and communication skills
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment
  • Knowledge of safety rules for kitchen equipment
  • Knowledge of where and how everything is stored
  • Label and date all food stored & rotate food as needed
  • Able to work all shifts and holidays
  • Arrives on time
  • Follow opening and closing procedures

  • Able to follow written or verbal instructions
  • Stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Report to managers when something is broken or needs repair
